Sunflowers bring with them the colors of summer, and the memories of bright, sunny days.
In the fall, sunflowers are pretty low-maintenance when it comes down to transitioning them over for the fall and winter.
After the blooms die and the stalks begin to brown, cut back the stems to remove unsightly foliage. Clean up any debris that has fallen from the tall stalks and check the surrounding areas for fungus or mold.
Sunflowers are typically very easily sown all by themselves, as the seeds drops off and bury themselves in the ground around harvest time, so with a little care and clean-up at this time of year, hopefully you will be enjoying a brand new crop of sunshine as soon as summer rolls back into town!
