03-27-15 dogwoodWe love dogwood trees! They are a great addition to any landscape, providing shade, blooms, height, variety, and awesome seasonal color in the fall months.

Kousa dogwoods (cornus kousa)  are just one variety of this sweet little tree, but we love it because of it’s beautiful draping silhouette  and it’s banks of white flowers in the springtime.

Most dogwood trees begin growing upright when they are young and stay true to that general shape as they mature, but kousa dogwoods begin growing straight and then begin to gently bend their branches down into the signature shape that they are known for.

Use kousas in pretty much any landscape, especially in entertaining spaces and areas of visual interest or focal points.
