Get a jump start on the explosion of colors and textures that are just around the corner by employing a few simple tips.

 Clear away any dead annuals that have been left to rot over the winter.  Some annuals may be composted and used as fodder for new plants, however, certain annuals are not recommended for reuse.

When in doubt, pull out the damaged limbs and entire root systems and discard them completely.
