Is there a summer or fall plant that you just can’t part with? Are winter temperatures threatening to turn it dormant and take all of it’s gorgeous blooms away?
Well, if you have the space, and are willing to get your hands a little dirty, overwintering that special plant will help keep it gorgeous and protected all year round!
Overwintering is basically the process of keeping container plants in the warmth of your house or other climate controlled buildings, for the purpose of keeping the dormancy stage from occurring.
What a great idea, right?
Remember, if you do choose to overwinter your plants by bringing them indoors, make sure to fully inspect them for bugs and pests that may be present. The cool outdoor temperatures may have discouraged them, but a warm indoor environment may cause them to multiply quite quickly.
