Rose bushes and other climbers are in need of some paring down after they have completed their growth cycles in the summertime and fall seasons.
Use the opportunity in the fall to simply remove the spent leaves, dying roses, and diseased limbs. When the first frost hits and dormancy sets in, remove all dead foliage and dead flower heads as needed.
If your bushes or climbers are becoming too large, wait until spring to cut back a large portion of unwanted growth, as well as limbs that have been damaged from winter conditions.
These few simple steps will help your beautiful bloomers come back strong and healthy in the springtime.
