mexican heather

It’s not unusual to find this evergreen shrub in many of our landscape designs.  Mexican heather is the perfect blend of delicate and hardy, particularly in the south, where it blooms from early spring to the first frost in zones 7 and 8.

Typically known to bloom purple, pink, or white, this type of heather grows up to about 2 feet tall and does well in full to part sun in well-drained areas.

Also known as “false heather”, “hawaiian heather”, or “elfin herb”, this versatile shrub is easily accessible to you at garden centers or your local nursery.  Try planting them in clusters in your garden beds or containers to add flowering visual interest for most of the year.
