New “Black Truffle” lobelia is a must-have addition to your summer and fall landscapes. Butterflies and other nectar-lovers are drawn to it’s sweetly fragrant blossoms that will bloom at the end of summer and into the first part of autumn, but don’t worry about the short bloom time — “Black Truffle” has deep purple colored foliage that will thrive both in the heat of summer and long after the blooms end.
Perennial varieties of lobelia can withstand full to partial sun, and grows well in low, wet areas, making it great for a boggy spot.
Try growing this new variety with purple coneflower (echinacea) or with hibiscus.
