Prized in many asian cultures for it’s herbal and medicinal uses, lemongrass might be just the accent piece you are looking for!
With thick, tightly packed base stems, lemongrass can grow upwards of 5 feet tall, it’s hardy green stalks making a statement with their height and aroma.
Plant lemongrass in well-drained, rich soil, making certain to keep it watered often. Lemongrass roots have a tendency to dry out rather quickly, but it’s important to avoid clay soil if you can. Too much water retention in the soil will cause premature death in a boggy area.
Due to it’s height potential, plant lemongrass in a slightly sheltered place, safe from high winds that may knock them over.
Use lemongrass in home landscapes, or as accents.
