In general, we love the lantana species here in south Georgia. It’s gorgeous blooms are hardy and tough during the hot, hot summers, which makes it relatively low-maintenance and therefore easy to care for.
However, there are certain varieties of lantana that have a very active and even aggressive spreading habit, meaning that you may have lantana popping up in areas that you did not anticipate.
Because of this potential for negative feedback, we encourage you to carefully consider this plant before installing in your landscapes. You will need to make sure that it is monitored and kept under control, as well as kept away from tender garden spaces that may be threatened if the lantana does branch out.
