Beginning a yard from nothing doesn’t have to be a daunting task! If you are a new homeowner who has a dirt lot for your yard, you undoubtedly have a great advantage here.
Starting a lush, green lawn from scratch can be less stressful than trying to “fix” an already established lawn that has a lot of problems, like unruly weeds, mold or fungus, or common turf pests.
Prep the ground with a little light raking to remove any scrub that has popped up, and to break up the hard soil surface.
Spread out the grass seed of your choice and lightly water to help the seed work it’s way down into the soil.
Periodically check the seed over the next few days to make sure any rain or watering hasn’t washed the seed away.
You should see brand new baby grass popping up in just a couple weeks!
